Keeping millions of cubic feet of warehouse space at sub-zero temperatures is an enormous logistical challenge. At their Wood Street facility, they deployed 1,000kW of battery storage to work alongside a 2MW solar installation. This setup allows Lineage to engage in "load shifting," where the facility pre-cools its units using solar power and battery reserves, effectively avoiding the most expensive power hours of the day. This reduces their carbon footprint and ensures that the global food supply chain remains resilient even during grid stress.
